My Bookshelf

Besides the Bible, What am I Reading?

I believe it is important to feed your brain. It keeps creative juices flowing but also helps keep you thinking and analyzing the information that it is thrown at you on a daily basis. Below is a list of books that I have either read or in the midst of reading (other than the Bible) along with a small idea of what they are all about.

  • How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth – by Max Lucado

I just started this book after struggling with a lot of burdens so my comments are not quite ready to be posted here but this IS now on my bookshelf and I’ll be updating this again before too long.

  • Too Busy Not to Pray – by Bill Hybels

Communication is a necessity in any relationship. If only one side of the relationship ever talks the relationship will never grow. The same is true with our relationship with God. If we never speak to Him, we will never really grow in our relationship with Him.

  • Imaginary Jesus – by Matt Mikalatos

While I would classify this as a work of humorous fiction, the subject of this book is quite serious. Right up there with C.S. Lewis, Matt Mikalatos shows us a different side of the world of spiritual warfare and asks some very tough questions.

If you never confront the imaginary Jesus, he’ll keep popping up, perverting what you know about the real Jesus.
